How We Work With Clients
Not what we do. How we actually work.
If you're trying to figure out whether we handle your specific situation, that's answered on the Business Owner Planning or Equity Compensation Planning pages. This page covers what it's actually like working with us.
Everything under one relationship.
Every engagement is ongoing and covers the full picture: investment management, tax strategy, retirement and cash flow planning, estate coordination, and intentional wealth and legacy planning. Tax and investment decisions largely stay with me directly. Where a CPA or estate attorney is the right call, we work alongside them so the full picture stays in view and centrally quarterbacked instead of getting missed between multiple professionals who never talk to each other
"The best financial decisions aren't made in isolation. They're made by someone who can see the whole board."
Here's what you're actually getting.
Every client engagement is ongoing and comprehensive. Here's what that looks like in practice:
Investment Management
Portfolios built around your goals, your timeline, and your specific financial situation. Continuous monitoring, rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, and asset location strategy built in. No proprietary products. No conflicts of interest. An investment strategy that evolves as your life does.
Tax Strategy and Planning
As an Enrolled Agent, I apply tax strategy directly to your financial plan rather than referring it out for the vast majority of situations. Proactive planning throughout the year, not just at tax time. Roth conversion analysis, tax-efficient withdrawal sequencing, asset location optimization, and IRS representation if you ever need it. For extraordinarily complex tax matters, I'll bring in a specialist and stay at the table alongside them
Intentional Wealth and Legacy Planning
The conversation most people put off until it feels urgent. What do you want your wealth to do while you're here to direct it? How do you deploy it with purpose, instill your values in the next generation, and make sure the people you love are prepared for what's coming? This is where strategy meets meaning.
Comprehensive Financial Planning
A living plan that covers your full financial picture. Cash flow planning, insurance analysis, retirement projections, Social Security optimization, and goal planning built around what matters most to you and your family. Not a document that sits in a drawer. A plan that gets updated as your life does.
Estate Planning Coordination
I work alongside your estate attorney to make sure your financial plan and legal documents are aligned and telling the same story. Beneficiary reviews, account titling strategy, trust funding, and ongoing coordination so the right hand always knows what the left hand is doing.
Here's how we get there.
In our discovery meeting we go deeper than most financial conversations ever do. We want to understand the full picture of your personal and financial circumstances, not just the numbers. Your income, assets, liabilities, and cash flow matter. So does your relationship with money, your family dynamics, your risk tolerance, and the values behind every financial decision you've ever made. We also talk about what you're actually trying to build, because goals that aren't clearly defined can't be effectively planned for.
By the end of this stage we'll have a complete quantitative and qualitative understanding of where you are, and we've begun to identify and prioritize what matters most to you. That foundation drives everything that follows.

This works best for a specific kind of person.
We work with individuals and families who have built real wealth and are ready to be intentional about what it does next. That often includes business owners navigating an exit or transition, families thinking seriously about the next generation, and high earners who are done improvising and want a plan that actually holds together.
The clients High Rock serves best value straight talk over comfortable answers, want one trusted relationship coordinating their financial life rather than managing a committee of specialists themselves, and understand that good advice is worth paying for because the cost of bad advice is usually higher.
If you're looking for someone to hand you a product and check back in once a year, we're probably not a good fit.
How I charge.
I'm compensated through fees you pay directly: a percentage of assets under management, a flat planning fee, or both, depending on your situation and what you need.
I'm happy to walk through the specifics on our first call so you know exactly what to expect before making any decisions
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get serious about this, it was probably a year ago.
But today works too. The first conversation is straightforward. You tell me where things stand and what you’re trying to achieve. I’ll tell you honestly what I see and whether I think we’re a good fit. No pitch. No pressure. Just a real conversation
